Using Mobile Connect to Scan Info

Mobile Connect allows you to electronically capture person and vehicle information and save
it to a list so it can be used at a later time to populate fields in a
report or citation.
Mobile Connect works by using your smart device's camra to scan the barcode on a DL (driver license), vehicle registration form, or VIN (vehicle identification number) decal. The data is then made available on a list to be added to a open report.
This feature is especially handy when multiple officers are working the same incident. For example, one officer may be scanning in DL information from involved parties, another officer may be capturing vehicle information for the involved vehicles, while a third officer creates the incident report and pulls the scanned data into the report.
Scanned data appears on the Mobile Connect list for 24 hours, after which time it is deleted. |
